Conservation district tax request postponed until spring

December 19, 2018by ncdea

WASHINGTON, Skagit CD — The Skagit Conservation District will not ask the Skagit County Board of Commissioners this year to institute a tax to help pay for the district’s services, district manager Bill Blake said Friday. The district will instead approach the commissioners about a tax in the spring.

Blake said the district ran out of time to present its request and leave time for the public to appeal the tax by a Dec. 15 deadline.“It just didn’t happen,” he said. “I’m just gonna go with it and take the opportunity to make sure what we present next year reflects everything we learned.”
