MINNESOTA, McLeod SWCD – The McLeod Soil and Water Conservation District won an $111,000 grant for Ditch 11 conservation. It will be used to improve the function and water quality of County Ditch 11 and work toward improving the water quality of Winsted Lake. Ten grade stabilization structures, four water and sediment control basins and a grassy waterway throughout the system’s watershed will be installed. Sediment is expected to be reduced by 108 tons per year, and phosphorus is expected to be reduced by 124 pounds per year.
