CALIFORNIA, Suisun RCD – Efforts to improve the facilities at Belden’s Landing and to eradicate the corn-looking phragmites and replace it with native species are part of the work that will be paid for in part by a $93,000 grant recently received by Solano County and the Suisun Resource Conservation District.

John Takekawa, the operations manager for the Suisun Resource Conservation District, said one of the primary goals for the 4 acres of tidal and wetland habitat is to replace the tall, dense phramites invasive plant with native tidal species such as the pepperweed.
