Upcoming conservation district forestry workshops

MICHIGAN, Otsego CD – Local conservation districts are hosting a pair of workshops in the coming weeks, beginning with a fruit tree pruning and care workshop. Join MSU Extension horticulturists Nathaniel Walton and Diane Brown for discussion on successfully growing your own fruit trees. Participants will learn about ideal fruit tree varieties for Northern Michigan, pruning and training techniques and a hands-on demonstration. There is a $20 registration cost. Please bring your lunch. Water and coffee will be provided.

There will also be a tree shrub and planting workshop from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, at the Otsego Conservation District Education Center at the Alpine Center, 459 Livingston Blvd, Gaylord. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
