MICHIGAN, Monroe CD – Registrations are due Aug. 9 for the second annual Monroe Farmers Great Lakes Sail on a tall ship Aug. 16 on Lake Erie.

Space is limited to 30 people, said Brittany Santure, technician for the Michigan Environmental Assurance Program (MAEAP) at the Monroe Conservation District. The ride is free to Monroe County producers. To register, call the district at 734-265-9311. A lunch will be provided.

“This is a unique opportunity for Monroe County producers to learn how land use impacts lake ecology,” Santure said in a press release. “They will learn about current Great Lakes’ environmental issues and conservation practices to enhance water quality.”
