Moses Lake Watershed Council holding public meeting

October 28, 2019by ncdea

WASHINGTON, Grant County CD – The Moses Lake Watershed Council is holding a public meeting on Wednesday as it continues to seek short and long-term solutions to improve the health of the lake.

“The Moses Lake Watershed Council’s goal is to assess current water quality conditions in the local watershed and explore effective, locally developed solutions,” stated Marie Lotz, Grant County Conservation District manager.

The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, state Department of Ecology, Grant County Conservation District, Grant County Health District, Moses Lake Irrigation and Rehabilitation District and the City of Moses Lake have collaborated to develop the watershed council, formed in 2018.

“What appears to be missing is long-term agreements, practices and processes in place to continue treatment well into the future – if not forever,” stated Harold Crose with the conservation district.
