Director, Northern Plains Region

Sarah Tunge

Hello, I am Sarah Tunge, District Manager for the Mercer County Soil Conservation District. I also serve as a director on the ND Conservation District Employees Association and sit on the executive committee for Vision West ND, a consortium focused on sustainable rural communities and interests in western ND.

I have been working in conservation for almost 20 years! It’s crazy to think back on the early days as a seasonal and how far we’ve all come. I’m continually encouraged to see that interest and engagement continues to grow and that fuels my passion for locally led, grassroots conservation.

Conservation and agriculture are close to my heart not only professionally but also personally. We raise Texas Longhorns for rodeo/roping stock as well as custom beef on the banks of Otter Creek. Rodeo, team roping and horses take up my summers and keep me out of trouble.

I look forward to working with you, if there is ever anything I can do to help – I’m just a phone call or email away!
