PENNSYLVANIA, Berks County CD – On June 26, officials held a ribbon cutting and check presentation to mark the reopening of Water Street in Womelsdorf.

The borough received a $232,814 road grant through the Berks County Conservation District to repair Water Street. Standing water on the street had washed dirt and grit into a wild trout stream, according to Dean Druckenmiller of the Berks County Conservation District.

“This is a really neat project that improves Berks County’s road system and our natural resources,” Druckenmiller said in an email. “Hopefully more municipalities will participate in this grant funding available through the Conservation District.”
