OREGON, Calapooia Watershed Council – The Calapooia Watershed Council (CWC) seeks an energetic, passionate individual to serve as an Outdoor School (ODS) Coordinator. The Coordinator will work closely with teachers and school district employees to lead the Outdoor School programs for the Greater Albany and Central Linn School Districts.

The CWC developed the Watershed Education Program in 2013 and has been growing its capacity to serve the students in our service area. Current programs include Salmon Watch and Urban Ecology field trips for 5th graders, Outdoor School for 6th graders, snorkeling trips, and customizable programs for students of all ages. With the passage of Measure 99 “Outdoor School for All”, the CWC has expanded its ODS program to include all 6th grade students in Greater Albany and Central Linn School Districts.

OREGON, Wasco SWCD – The Wasco County Soil and Water Conservation District is seeking a full-time Office Assistant. The position will assist other staff members in carrying out their administrative duties. The duties of the Office Assistant will be fluid and varied as is true for all staff members. Due to the small staff size and myriad demands, the ability to learn new things on the fly is an important attribute to have and is highly valued. All staff members wear multiple hats. While it is not expected for a new employee to be proficient in everything all at once, the willingness and ability to learn and evolve over time is key.

The position pays $30,000 a year with performance based advancement. There is a 3-month trial employment period before benefit eligibility. Benefits include District Paid: Health, Dental, Vision, and Life. Paid Annual and Sick Leave and all federal holidays. Work week is Monday through Friday. 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

The Wasco Co. SWCD is co-located with USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) in the USDA Service Center in The Dalles. The three organizations shared mission is to work with area agriculture producers in addressing their natural resource concerns through farm programs that promote conservation practices. The Conservation District’s mission also promotes conservation among urban and small acreage landowners.

The Conservation District seeks out funding through state, federal and private grant sources to assist landowners in addressing resource issues such as erosion, irrigation efficiency, demonstration farm practices, new agricultural technology, and water quality, to name a few.

OREGON, Benton SWCD – The Benton Soil and Water Conservation District in Corvallis, Oregon is seeking a full-time Operations Manager.

This position provides operational management and administrative support for the District. The Operations Manager’s duties are central to the day-to-day functioning and smooth/safe operation of the District. This position provides high-level, and in some cases confidential, support to the Executive Director in managing office operations. Essential abilities include strong organizational and strategic skills to anticipate District needs; attention to detail and the ability to see the larger context; ability to work independently and as part of a team; ability to document and present information and ideas clearly and effectively to BSWCD staff, Board of Directors, contractors, volunteers, project partners, Benton County residents, vendors, and a variety of stakeholders with diverse needs and backgrounds; exceptional communication and customer service skills; and the ability to professionally represent the District to elected officials, donors and supporters, and the media. These duties are expected to be performed with tact, integrity and transparency, following established District policies and procedures.

BSWCD is a special district governed by an elected Board of Directors and supported through a property tax levy, grants, and other local, state, federal, and private funds. District employees (6 FTEs) engage Benton County residents in the conservation and stewardship of natural resources by providing educational, technical, and/or financial assistance. Our annual operating budget is approximately $1 million dollars. We work collaboratively with a diverse array of knowledgeable and dedicated partner organizations, landowners, and volunteers to achieve our mission. BSWCD is committed to fostering a work environment that is inclusive, collaborative, and welcoming. We embrace diversity and we are in the process of developing an organizational equity action plan.
